Stage 1: Initial Review (Anonymous Evaluation)

In the first stage, all submissions will be reviewed anonymously. No names will appear on the works; each entry will be identified only by a number. From each age group, 10 finalists will be selected.

Stage 2: Finalists’ Presentations

The selected finalists will be invited to the University ofBritish Columbia (UBC) on the designated day to present their projects and share their ideas directly with the jury.

Stage 3: Final Jury Deliberation

After the presentations and discussions, the jury will make their final decisions. During the Awards Ceremony at Polygon Art Gallery, the first, second, and third place winners in each age group will be announced and celebrated.

Stage 4: Publication of Selected Works

All finalists’ and winners’ projects will be compiled into a book and will also be featured in internationally recognized publications such as Domus and ArchDaily

Evaluation Criteria 

• Concept: a clear and strong concept at the core of the idea

• Context & Setting: meaningful connection to geographical and cultural context

• Definition of the Bridge: well-articulated purpose and role of the bridge

• Innovation: originality and creative approaches

• Experimental Design: openness to exploration, bold ideas, and experience-driven creative thinking

• Spatial Experience: ability to create and shape engaging spatial qualities

• Relevance: responsiveness to current global and Canadian conditions

• Presentation: clear and effective communication of the idea, making it easy for the jury to understand; the use of diagrams, three-dimensional drawings, and models in the sheets is encouraged
